Your vehicle’s air conditioner cools and dehumidifies your cabin’s air by circulating a chemical refrigerant through a series of mechanical components. The system’s fan then blows air across the chilled tubes into your cabin. The system continuously pressurizes and cools the refrigerant as it circulates and removes the heat and humidity from your vehicle’s cabin.

- Compressor: pumps refrigerant into the Condenser.
- Condenser: compresses the refrigerant into a cold liquid.
- Expansion valve: lowers the system pressure so the refrigerant can become a cold vapor.
- Evaporator: cold refrigerant travels through the Evaporator coils. The blower fan pushes warm air across the cold coils, and cold air is blown into your cabin.
The refrigerant warms as it absorbs the heat from your cabin. It travels back into the Compressor and the whole process starts again.
